Pertaining to me
The quote by William Saroyan "Good people are good because they've come to wisdom through failure.." pertains to me and others in many ways. To get where a person wants to be in life there are many obstacles that a person has to overcome. Whether they be emotional, educational, or physical all goals has obstacles. The first time may not go as plan, and a person may fail over and over again. By learning from their mistakes it will be easier the next time to eliminate the wrong answers. To be a wise person is to have failed, so that you can relate.

That quote sounds very similar to one I heard in a movie once. "anything worth doing is difficult." Saying that there will be obsticles in life that need to be overcome in order to reach the goals in our life.
